Labour increased its share of the vote in Blaydon constituency and gained 30 more seats in what has turned out to be an historic election.

Liz Twist was elected with 56% of the votes cast as the new Member of Parliament for Blaydon constituency. She replaces Dave Anderson who stood down at the election after serving the people of our great area for 12 years.

Despite the election being called unexpectedly by Prime Minister Theresa May, Liz and her team spoke to thousands of residents about what matters to them and their families.
They told her that jobs, the NHS, education, housing, our environment and dignity for
people needing care are all important.

Liz has pledged to fight for public services in Westminster and here in Blaydon constituency with a fully staffed local office dealing with constituents’ issues. She will
also continue to keep residents informed.
